Our Philosophy
Before Your Nightmare: Psychological Horror Fiction
Before Your Nightmare is built on atmosphere rather than shock. The stories favour patient storytelling, believable characters and mysteries that deepen as they unfold. Fear comes not from violence or spectacle, but from uncertainty, memory and the unsettling feeling that something familiar has quietly changed.
The horror is rarely fully revealed. A railway carriage can become too comfortable. A village tradition can begin to feel necessary. An old document can appear to know who is reading it. The familiar remains recognisable, but something beneath it has shifted, leaving both the characters and the reader uncertain of what can still be trusted.

How Before Your Nightmare Stories Are Created
Every Before Your Nightmare story begins with an original concept and is developed within a structured writing framework created specifically for the series. Characters, settings, story structure, atmosphere and the direction of the horror are planned before the manuscript is completed.
Artificial intelligence is used as a creative writing tool within that framework. I direct the story, make the creative decisions, review the manuscript and repeatedly refine the writing until it follows the intended plot, pacing and atmosphere. AI assists the process, but it does not decide what a Before Your Nightmare story should be.
While artificial intelligence is part of the writing process, the audiobooks are always narrated by professional human voice actors, never AI-generated voices. I believe readers should know how the stories they read and listen to are created, which is why the process is explained openly rather than hidden.
